Creating and Choosing the Paths of Historical Development

Abstract. In the article, on the basis of the idealistic approach to history developed by the author, the problem of creating and choosing ways of historical development is considered. The author proceeds from the position that the subject of history and its main engine are the ideas created by human consciousness and determining the direction of development of social groups, peoples, states and humanity as a whole. Human creativity begins with the creation of ideas by individual consciousness, which is then carried out in the objective world. Ideas are the root cause of everything created by man, underpin the social world and new types of reality that did not exist before. Social groups, united by these ideas, turn them into reality, creating new vectors of human development. The choice of the historical path is always preceded by disappointment in the old idea that determined the actions of people. The author considers the conditions and the mechanism of choice on the example of Russian history.
