Abstract. On June 10, 2020, Anatoly Vladimirovich Lubsky, a historian and philosopher, professor at the Department of Theoretical Sociology and Methodology of Regional Studies at ISIR SFU, Doctor of Philosophy, untimely passed away. Anatoly Vladimirovich was an extraordinary, multifaceted personality – that is how his close friends, colleagues and associates recall him. Going beyond purely historical disciplines, Anatoly Vladimirovich came to a philosophical understanding of the past, created a multidimensional methodological construct of social and humanitarian research. A talented researcher, an excellent teacher and mentor, he will remain in the memory of many as a bright personality, a faithful and reliable friend and, no doubt, a person for whom the main thing in life was the service of science. The article publishes memoirs and reviews about Anatoly Vladimirovich of his classmates, close friends, work colleagues A.N. Erygin, T.F. Ermolenko, V.P. Korzun, I.N. Danilevsky.
