Strokes to the Portrait: Vladimir Yakovlevich Kiyashko is 80 Years Old!

Abstract. Vladimir Yakovlevich Kiyashko is 80 years old! In 1956 he entered Rostov State University, the historical-philological faculty, which graduated in 1960. After that he began working at the university, rising from a lecturer to a professor. During three decades he conducted research on a single-layered Eneolithic settlement on outskirts of Konstantinovsk town, and later on multylayered landmark in surroundings of Razdorskaya village. V.Ya. Kiyashko is the editor of scientific collections «Historical and archaeological researches in Azov and on the Lower Don», issued by Azov Museum, and «The Don notes», published by the Don archaeological society. He was the curator of the Archaeological laboratory of historical faculty in the Rostov State University, headed by L.M. Kazakova. Today he leads tours of «The Lost world» in Puhlyakovskaya village. Besides that, he works on memoirs, two volumes of which have already been published: «A half century of archaeology and something else ...» and «Backpack of memories». He is the author of numerous works on various problems of archaeology of the bronze age on the Lower Don, among which «Between the stone and bronze (The Lower Don region in the V– III Millennium BC)», «To the question of pins gavel shape», «The legend and the reality of Don barrows» (in co-authorship). Numerous students and friends wish the anniversarian creative achievements and new works on the ancient history of the Lower Don.
