“Representation of Urban Culture: the Past and the Present”: National Scientific-Practical Conference (Rostov-onDon, 16 November 2016)

Abstract. The article presents an analytical review of the papers presented at the National scientific-practical conference “Representation of urban culture: the past and the present”, which took place on 16 November 2016 at Southern Federal University. The conference was attended by representatives of 28 scientific and educational organizations from 22 cities of Russia and abroad. As a part of the conference a distinction was made between urban culture and city culture, it was defined the limits of the visual research methods of urban culture application, the Research turnover term “loop representation” was introduced. The purpose of this review is to determine the prospects of the analytical capacity of the city program of cultural studies and urban culture. The basis for the construction of a methodological study of the urban culture serves not only for understanding of its symbolic nature, but also of representative. Whatever the objective content in the culture is, its presence in the “body” of the city is carried out through a number of intermediate links, what are the actual practice of behavior, communication style, appearance of citizens, public events and festivals, the city sold the script development space.
