Abstract. The article is a publication of the record of service of the Russian military and statesman Prince P.D. Tsitsianov, whose name is associated with the initial stage of joining the Caucasus to the Russian Empire. Clarifications of the prince’s biography, different from information from printed publications, both pre-revolutionary and modern, are still going on, which demonstrates the importance of using Tsitsianov’s track record and the need for its early introduction into scientific circulation. The track record makes it possible to clean up the biography of the prince from gaps and inaccuracies up to his death near the walls of Baku in 1806. This document reveals the details of the death of Tsitsianov, confirms the existing version of the treachery of Hussein Kuli Khan and his entourage, who acted in the interests of the Persian Shah.
