Abstract. The purpose of this article is to present the teaching and research activities of Czech immigrants who worked in the revival of the University of Warsaw in 1870–1890-ies. For the first time their activity is considered in integrity, revealing the “Czech trail” in the university’s history. The article analyzes the biography of three Czech teachers: philologist and ethnographer F.I. Iezbera, outstanding slavist I.I. Pervolf and the famous scientist in the field of medicine D.F. Lambl. They were invited to the University of Warsaw at the turn of 1860–1870-ies by rector P.A. Lavrovsky who sought to ensure that the institution qualified and loyal government personnel. All Czech scientists have successfully integrated into the university corporation, working in Warsaw until the death. They have contributed outstandingly to the development of Slavic Studies and medical science at the University of Warsaw, helping to transform the university into one of the leading universities of the Russian Empire.
