About author

Abstract. The monograph of Sergey Fedorov and Anastasia Palamarchuk is devoted to the North British history of 5–15th centuries. The book covers ethnopolitical processes of Early Medieval Britain, genealogy and representation of ruling groups, the origins and development of the main forms of landowning, the political chronicle, and also specificity of the Celtic church. The authors practically implement the idea that it is impossible to draw a clear line between constructivist research and modern narrative historiography, and present both approaches in exploring the historical past. The monograph demonstrates a certain degree of distinction between different methodological approaches to the particular historical material. It also narrates events, specifies the details of the dynastic history and helps Russian readers to clarify the essence of Scottish historical development and peculiarities of the Scottish national identity.
