Abstract. The text is dedicated to the memory of Doctor of Historical Sciences Tatyana Pavlovna Khlynina untimely passed June 10, 2015. T.P. Khlynina is an outstanding Russian historian, a renowned expert in the field of Soviet history 1920–1940. Her scientific legacy includes more than 450 published works, such as dozens of monographs, collective works, articles in leading domestic and foreign historical journals. T.P. Khlynina brilliantly graduated from Adyghe State Pedagogical Institute in 1989. Later on, her professional activity has been associated with a variety of scientific and educational institutions. Candidate of science degree was defended at the Institute of Russian History (1993) and doctorate at Moscow State Regional University (2003). Both works were dedicated to the topic of the Soviet national policy in the North Caucasus. The most active period of scientific activity of T.P. Khlynina was in Rostov-on-Don, where she worked in the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Socio-Economic and Humanities Research SSC RAS. Tatyana Pavlovna has passed at the peak of his career at the age of 48 years.
