The Vth International Golden Horde Forum “History of the Golden Horde and Tatar Khanates”

Abstract. The article is devoted to the Vth International Golden Horde Forum “History of the Golden Horde and Tatar Khanates”, which took place 15–18 March 2017, in Kazan, in the Sh. Marjani Institute of History of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. The Forum was organized by the Sh. Marjani Institute of History of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences and the Usmanov Center for Research on the Golden Horde and Tatar Khanates. The Forum was attended by historians of the leading scientific and educational centers of Russia, Serbia, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Mongolia, Finland, Egypt, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Belarus, the United States, Norway, France, Britain and Italy. In the framework of the Forum, several events have been organized, namely international scientific conference “Source Study of the History of the Golden Horde and Tatar Khanates: Textual Criticism, Translations, Interpretations”, international scientific conference “Coinage and Circulation of Money in the Golden Horde and Turko-Tatar Khanates in the Light of Source Study Research”, as well as the round tables “Ecological and Epidemiological Factors in the Medieval Eurasia” and “Golden Horde on the Great Silk Road”. The presentations were varied in topics, covering various aspects of the history of the Golden Horde and post-Horde Tatar States.
