Abstract. The material is the first publication of an excerpt from the memoirs of Colonel D.N. Tikhobrazov about the events in Ukraine in late 1918 — early 1919, when the
memoirist and his companions fled from the advancing Soviet troops, traveling from Kremenchuk to Odessa. The latter was then under the occupation of the Entente forces.
His memoirs are valuable source on the history of the Civil war and are kept in the Bakhmetev Archives of Russian and East European History and Culture in New York.
