Vir Doctus et Eruditus: Anniversary of Andrey Korenevskiy

Abstract. The article is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Andrey Vitalievich Korenevskiy, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, the Head of Department of Russian Medieval and Modern History of the Institute of History and International Relations (Southern Federal University) and a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “The New Past”. The author of the article describes multifaceted activities of Andrey Korenevskiy and characterizes him as a person and a specialist who sincerely follows the idea of universitas and respublica litteraria. The article shows the evolution of Korenevskiy’s academic interests, his creative activity in the theatrical field and illustrates his organizational talent. Much attention is paid to the multifaceted work and the colossal personal contribution of Andrey Vitalievich to the creation and development of the Interdisciplinary Individual Humanitarian Education (MIGO) programme. This programme has become a professional school for many students from humanitarian faculties and institutes of SFedU, as well as other universities, including foreign ones.
