The report provides an overview of the scientific-practical conference held at the Institute of History and International Relations in Southern Federal University. Tokarevskie readings were the tribute to memory of an outstanding Russian armorer F.V. Tokarev. In 2016, for the first time, experts from throughout Russia, including Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Moscow, Novocherkassk, Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, have participated in the conference. This year the conference was notable for diversity and geography of participants in the five-year history of Tokarevskie readings. Among the audience of the conference, in addition to speakers, there were students, historians, museum staff and Cossack representatives. The promoters of the conference had determined the range of topical issues in advance, specifying the purpose and the title of the conference. The Conference Organizing Committee received 45 applications, comprised the agenda of the Tokarevskie readings. The work of the anniversary Tokarevskie readings was held in the format of plenary and breakout sessions. The conference resulted in the detailed resolution, adopted by the participants and addressed to the representatives of the Rostov region administration and aimed at promoting national traditions. The results of the V Tokarevskie readings are planned to be published this year. The VI Tokarevskie readings are supposed to be held in 2017.
