Abstract. The letters of Professor D.V. Tsvetaev to G.G. Pisarevsky are published for the first time. Chronologically, the letters cover the period from June 9, 1898 to June 26, 1909, and significantly supplement the biographical information known from other sources about the addressee of the letters of D.V. Tsvetaev, namely about the recognition of G.G. Pisarevsky in the scientific field, preparation for the defense of the master’s thesis “From the history of foreign colonization in Russia in the XVIII century”, the beginning of his teaching activity. Geographically, the letters belong to the Warsaw period of D.V. Tsvetaev’s life and most of them were sent from Warsaw. But the letters written by him during his summer vacation in Prussia, Saxony, Tarus, etc. give us an idea of the places where the family of D.V. Tsvetaev spent their summer holidays. The letters reflect various aspects of the life of a Russian professor at the turn of the 19th–20th century: the great and fruitful work of D.V. Tsvetaev as a scientist and research supervisor, his responses to events at the University of Warsaw and in the country as a whole, the assessment of the professional and human qualities of colleagues, impressions of summer vacations. The confidential tone of the letters shows the great friendship and mutual assistance of D.V. Tsvetaev and G.G. Pisarevsky.
