Abstract. The historiographic review is devoted to the academic project realized since 2006 on the basis of the Southern federal university – to the “British Studies” almanac. The main attention is paid to the analysis of its organizational, methodological and thematic features, a place and a role of the almanac in the context of a British studies and historical science as that in contemporary Russia. In this regard the review includes the characteristic of thematic, chronological and disciplinary limits of the almanac. The separate attention is paid to the analysis of a role and place of this academic project in the context of the Russian historical science in general and British studies in particular (including from the point of view of an edition format). Respectively the noticeable place in the review is taken by analysis of editorial sections of releases of “The British researches”. First of all, the attention is paid to character and logic of a consecutive contexstualization and problematization of studying of the British past on pages of this collection. Besides, the historiographic projection of the version of the British history presented in it is analyzed. In the review the attention to new geography of the British researches in Russia is paid. The special status of the edition is fixed as reflecting of the professional community of British studies historians and actively influencing on that process.
